Udayam contains secondary nutrients calcium, magnesium and sulphur in high concentrations. These nutrients help in routine plant growth activities and also improve physical and chemical properties of soil.
Udayam improve the physical characteristics of soil particles and controls soil chemical reaction (pH). Additionally, it also enhances the percentage base saturation.
Calcium – It regulates the availability of nutrients to the plants. Calcium also enhances the base saturation level in soil and increases soil aeration. Calcium is a major constituent of plant cell wall and very much essential plant nutrient. Calcium helps in pH regulation in soil.
Magnesium – It is a constituent of chlorophyll, which maintains the greenish colour of leaves and hence increases the rate of photosynthesis in plants. This leads to increase in yield, both in quality and quantity. Magnesium helps in pH regulation in soil.
Sulphur – It enhances soil aeration. When Sulphur is applied to soil it reacts with soil oxygen and releases water molecules, which reduces the salinity, sulphur enhances oil content in oilseed crops.
Sulphur play a major role in Amino acid synthesis and is major constituent of cysteine and methionine amino acids.
